About the BIM Dictionary

The BIM Dictionary is the canonical, editorial home for BIMei Terms — the shared vocabulary of Building Information Modelling and the wider digital built environment.

Every term has a permanent, dereferenceable identifier — https://w3id.org/bimei/term/{slug} — that you can cite and link to with confidence. Identity is language-, jurisdiction- and version-neutral: labels and definitions are provided per language and, where they differ, per jurisdiction, while the term itself keeps one stable identity.

The dictionary is the source of truth, not a runtime hub: other tools and ontologies consume a versioned snapshot of its terms rather than calling it live.
